Thursday night saw the Ottawa Senators lose their consecutive game in overtime after a 3-2 loss against the Boston Bruins. It was then time for another road game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

On Oct. 23 in Ottawa, the Senators won the first meeting against the Flyers 2-1. In the second meeting against the Flyers, the Senators found themselves in a cold offensive stretch, but found a way to win a game.

The Senators defeated the Flyers 3-2 in overtime at Xfinity Mobile Arena. With the win, the Senators improved to 7-5-3 overall on the season.

Less than 6.5 minutes into the game, the Senators got off to a fast start. Tim Stutzle and Michael Amadio each scored a goal in a span of 1:05 to give the Senators an early 2-0 lead. With his goal, Amadio has scored a goal in all three November games. After Amadio's goal, the Senators' offense went cold, and the Flyers got back into the game.

In the second period, Matvei Michkov scored the only goal of the period, which cut the Senators' lead to 2-1. Things got chippy in the period as 4-on-4 play was needed on two different occasions.

Jamie Drysdale tied the game at two for the Flyers with 10:05 remaining in regulation. Drysdale's goal was enough for overtime to be needed.

The Senators had lost their last two games in overtime against the Montreal Canadiens and Bruins. Third time would be the charm when Drake Batherson delivered a pass for Stutzle to tap in for the overtime winner past Samuel Ersson. The goal was Stutzle's second goal of the game and eighth of the season.

The Senators went 26:25 without a shot on goal from the second period into the third period. Stutzle's shot was the only shot on goal by the Senators in overtime. Although the offense went cold with recording only two shots on goal combined in the third period and overtime, any win is needed in a very tight Eastern Conference. The Senators finished with 13 shots on goal. Linus Ullmark was much better with making 20 saves.

The Senators have a quick turnaround as they return to action tomorrow against the Utah Mammoth. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Canadian Tire Centre. Last season, Ottawa swept the two-game season series against Utah.
