Before the 2024-25 season, forward Noah Gregor was a member of the San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs in his NHL career. Gregor signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Senators in July 2024.

Gregor had a fresh start when he joined the Senators. However, Gregor wouldn't finish the season out in Ottawa. Right before the trade deadline ended this past March, Gregor was traded to the Sharks to begin a second tenure with the organization.

This past June, the Sharks didn't give a qualifying offer to Gregor. Not giving Gregor a qualifying offer made him an unrestricted free agent in the 2025 free agency. With August just ending, preseason hockey will arrive in under three weeks, but Gregor's search to play for a new team in the 2025-26 season is turning into a struggling one at 27 years old.

Gregor still unsigned as September has arrived

As September has arrived today, Gregor is still unsigned by an NHL team. With how Gregor's 2024-25 season was, he might not offer much for teams to be interested in him with the regular season starting in just over one month.

With the Senators last season before being traded, Gregor recorded just six points with a -12 rating in 40 games played. At one point, Gregor had a solid stretch with recording two goals over a four-game span in December.

After his two goals scored over the four-game span in December, Gregor recorded no points in the final 14 games he played as a Senator before being traded on March 7. Once traded to San Jose for his second Sharks tenure, Gregor's season got more tough.

In 12 games played with the Sharks, Gregor recorded just one assist with a -9 rating. Overall combined with the Senators and Sharks, Gregor recorded seven points and a -21 rating in 52 games played.

Now in September, Gregor's time to finding a new NHL team is running low ahead of the 2025-226 season. The first 2025 preseason game for the NHL is scheduled for Sept. 20, but Gregor is still unsigned. Gregor's rough 2024-25 season could be difficult for teams to be interested in signing him.
