The 2009 Free Agents Prediction Game

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Tomorrow we all know it’s Free Agent Frenzy Day. Even though many do not make predictions for where the Free Agents will go because it is tricky, I’ll a shot at it. Remember, I predicted last year Marian Hossa would be a Bruin, so I’m not that good at this stuff. Enjoy!

24 Hours

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Folks, there’s only 24 hours left until the market opens, where every General Manager’s phone rings like hell and the UFA’s start to ponder where they want to play next year. Tomorrow I will be away from the computer because of course it’s Canada Day. But I’ll try to get everyone covered on what may happen tomorrow because it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.
Let’s start with the saga that is Dany Heatley. I can’t believe Murray is even thinking of bringing him back. Heatley back would create such a distraction in the locker room and would re-energize friction [...]

Response to the Critics

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

When I first started this blog, I always tried to give you the best and accurate rumors. I never like derogatory comments and I had mentioned before most of them came from Anonymous users. However, a few days ago, I lifted the ban and allowed anyone to comment. However, like very blog it seems these days, the results weren’t very welcoming.
I do have to say this. If you have a problem with me and/or my blog, contact me at my e-mail. I will be more than happy to have a response to your criticism. However, do not barge in and [...]

Welcome to Ottawa, young lads

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

The NHL Draft is a pretty cool thing, Since I love in this putrid city called Montreal, I went to the big bonnanza, and it was pretty cool being in the same place as future superstars. I think the Sens’ organization did a good job this year, and are really showing signs of improvement. Here’s my analysis of the first 3 picks the Sens made this year.
Jared Cowen- D from Spokane ChiefsEven though MPS fell down quite a bit, Murray chose Cowen because, truth be told, ever since Big Z left, we have never had a big, physical defenseman, and [...]

My Off-Season as the General Manager of the Ottawa Senators

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Welcome all, my name is Bobby and I’d like to tell you about my adventure this summer. It all started June 20th, when I dropped an inkling of poison into Bryan Murray’s teapot. One sip, and he was in the hospital. Since he was in the stages of collapsing, the first person he sees will become the new GM of the Ottawa Senators in his time of absence. And guess who shows up, yup, me, and then it all starts. It was time to put my stamp on the team, build it from the bottom up.
It all starts when I [...]

BREAKING NEWS: Murray close to sending Auld to Jackets

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Bryan Murray and Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson are closing in on another trade right before Draft Day on Friday. Multiple sources tell me that Murray has a deal in principle to send goaltender Alexander Auld to the Jackets for defenseman Kris Russell.
To start off with, sorry to any fans who thought this was another Heatley post. It looks like Auld has stolen his thunder. But back to the trade, Murray has been interested in Russell for a very, very long time and almost acquired him in the Vermette for LeClaire trade, however, he would face cap problems. Now that [...]

Say It Loud, Say It Clear

AUTHOR: Bobby Zijiac | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 12 Comments

News broke out 3 days ago that Heatley gave Bryan Murray a list of preferred destinations in his next journey who Murray has spoken to. I have confirmation from a source that there are 7 teams on that list and they are…
SAN JOSE SHARKSLOS ANGELES KINGSANAHEIM DUCKSCALGARY FLAMESVANCOUVER CANUCKSPITTSBURGH PENGUINSDALLAS STARSThere you have it folks. All three teams from California are on the list(GASP!), his hometown is on it(DOUBLE GASP!), a team close to his hometown(GASP, AGAIN!), a team buried in the riches of Texas(HOLY SHISHKIBOB!), and the defending Cup Champions who include 2 of the 3 best players in [...]
