After Saturday's 1-0 regulation loss to the Los Angeles Kings, the Ottawa Senators will begin a seven-game road trip starting this Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks.

As the first game is two days away, news on prospects was recently announced by the team, and both impact the NHL and AHL levels.

Prospect news announced by Senators organization among four players

Earlier this morning, the Senators announced that both forward Stephen Halliday and defenseman Lassi Thomson were recalled from Belleville. With the Senators battling injuries and a lack of offensive depth, both players can provide depth.

This season, Halliday is thriving again. Halliday leads Belleville with 16 points and 15 assists. Since last season, Halliday's offensive game has seen major improvement.

Thomson has four points this season, but his three goals are the most among Belleville defensemen. With Thomas Chabot dealing with an injury, Thomson can be used over Nikolas Matinpalo if needed on defense. Thomson does have more NHL experience than Carter Yakemchuk and Jorian Donovan, who are the two defensemen with more points in Belleville than Thomson.

In Belleville, they will get goaltender Mads Sogaard back after being cleared to play. Belleville has three games this week, including a back-to-back in Quebec against the Laval Rocket. Sogaard hasn't played since Oct. 26, but Belleville was dealt a big loss in the lineup.

Forward Tyler Boucher, who was having the best start to his AHL career, will be "out for a while," as told by Belleville head coach David Bell. Injuries have hit Boucher yet again for another season. Boucher getting hit with an injury during his best season can hurt Belleville's offense.

Both Ottawa and Belleville will be busy this upcoming week with the games each team has on its schedule. It will be a chance for the prospects to show progress.
