Since being drafted 10th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2021 NHL Draft, Tyler Boucher has had some struggles. Boucher has yet to play in the NHL since being drafted.

Over the past two seasons, Boucher has played in the AHL with the Belleville Senators. However, Boucher has struggled and dealt with injuries.

This 2025-26 season was going to be pivotal for Boucher to show that he has great potential when healthy. Even though it has been four games, Boucher has been delivering in Belleville.

Boucher off to best AHL start in his career

While Belleville has lost all four games to start the season, Boucher has been one of the team's best players so far. In four games, Boucher has recorded three points.

Yesterday, Boucher recorded an assist in Belleville's 5-3 loss to the Syracuse Crunch. With recording an assist, Boucher has recorded one point in three consecutive games. Boucher has only recorded one point in three consecutive games one other time in the AHL. Even with having a hot start, Boucher mentioned he is "just not satisfied."

Boucher mentioning that he isn't satisfied with three points early can show he will be eager to do more and be more relied on. This season, Belleville has seen big improvement from Boucher, which was needed on both sides after the past two seasons with struggling play and injuries.

Last season, Boucher went the first 16 games without recording one point. Boucher finished last season recording 10 points in 47 games. In the 2023-24 season, Boucher recorded five points in 21 games.

"I know what I am even when I was struggling," Boucher said.

Huge improvement and confidence has been from Boucher early on this season. With the pace Boucher is going at, he can become one of Belleville's most relied on players every game for offensive production.

A bonus for Boucher is he is putting the team first before himself putting up stats. Being a team first player can help Boucher become one of Belleville's top leaders in the locker room.

Boucher has another opportunity on Wednesday night against the Laval Rocket at CAA Arena to continue his hot start to the season and show more improvement.
