Battle of Ontario part 2; Senators host Maple Leafs

The Ottawa Senators are in another tough stretch. After falling to the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins, the Senators have fallen out of a playoff spot with a 24-20-4 record. Now, the team gets ready to play their fourth back-to-back of 2025, starting it against the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Senators are currently out of a playoff spot with 52 points in a tight race in the Eastern Conference. Despite having a cold stretch offensively, every Battle of Ontario showdown will always give an extra boost of energy for the Senators.

Senators host Maple Leafs during cold offensive stretch

The Senators host the Maple Leafs at Canadian Tire Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Thursday night saw yet another frustrating loss as the Senators fell to the Bruins. While Anton Forsberg made 24 saves on 25 shots on goal, Ottawa's offense remained cold with being shutout for the second consecutive game. The Senators have now gone 137:10 without scoring a goal.

As for the Maple Leafs, they come into tonight's game with a 30-17-2 record. The Maple Leafs most recent game was a 5-1 loss at home to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Mitch Marner has been dominating offensively for the Maple Leafs with leading the team with 52 assists and 67 points. William Nylander leads the Maple Leafs with 28 goals.

The Senators and Maple Leafs have only met one time this season on Nov. 12 in Toronto where the Senators shutout the Maple Leafs 3-0. In the second period during the game, Tim Stutzle and Michael Amadio each scored a goal in a 43-second span. The Senators recorded 41 shots on goal against Anthony Stolarz and Linus Ullmark recorded a 27-save shutout.
