The first round of the NHL draft will conclude the same way the season ended – with the Chicago Blackhawks. The Hawks will once again have to do a little bit of housecleaning after a Stanley Cup win due to Salary Cap restrictions, but they will take that because of the Cup they just hoisted.

SENSHOT’S CHOICE: Curtis Lazar from the Edmonton Oil Kings. With the impending loss of Dave Bolland and/or Bryan Bickell, Lazar would join an impressive list of forward prospects like Brandon Saad, Mark McNeill and Jeremy Morin. Lazar can play any forward position and is a shooter first, so might be better on the wing. He is 6′ and will play at about 205-210 when he fills out, so he can handle NHL traffic. He has a good nose for the net and very good hands.
