SenShot NHL Mock Draft Pick #27 – Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets will continue to stock their shelves with the #27 pick, their third of the first round.  I have them taking a forward at #14 and a defenseman at #19, so they will be able to add to one of those areas at #27.  They received this pick from the LA Kings.

TEAM STRENGTHS:  Goaltending, Strong group of all-around defensemen

TEAM WEAKNESSES: Inconsistent scoring, size on the wings

HOCKEY’S FUTURE ORGANIZATIONAL PROSPECT RANK: 21st of 30 team

UNDER CONSIDERATION:  Andre Burakovsky, Alexander Wennburg, Laurent Dauphin,  Morgan Klimchuk, Mirco Mueller

FANSIDED MOCK DRAFT PICK:  Union and Blue selected Ryan Hartman.

SENSHOT’S CHOICE:   Andre Burakovsky from Malmo of  the SEL.  Burakovsky is one of those players that could rise to a top 10, or could fall to a late first round spot.  He has had a steady imporvement and does almost everything well, but nothing spectacular.  If he does fall this late in the draft (which in unlikely when the actual day comes around), whoever ends up taking him will have a diamond in the rough.
