Total Lack of Respect

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Ottawa Senators are riding an eight-game winning streak after last night’s 4-1 victory (I called it!) over the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Usually the local media sharpens on the Sens like a bee on honey, but guys like Don Brennan and Bruce Garrioch have been quiet lately, only signalling out the positives from our team. Turns your heads though, ladies, as we’re not just done yet. The national media are now the jackasses, and I’ve made it my mission to signal out their flaunty mistakes. Remember, TSN predicted Ottawa would finish 11th in the Eastern Conference [...]

Time For A Thing Called Revenge

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

That guy. Yes, that guy in the picture above. He’s dead meat tonight. Wait, I’m using too much of a kind word. I’ll say fucking shitty shit dead meat tonight. Every Sens fan must remember the last time these two teams played. Pittsburgh won on home ice 8-2 after Craig Adams blew out El Capitano. What they didn’t know was that the next time they played, they would get it. Get it real good. That’s why Ottawa will win their franchise record 8th straight game tonight. Everyone wants revenge, and when that is in order, the team gets the win. [...]

Daily Shots: Peter Mueller, Alex Kovalev and Russia, and Eight is Great

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Welcome to this week’s Daily Shots! Daily Shots gives you all the information, facts, and opinions on everything Sens! So it’s now 7 in a row, as Brian Elliott and the Ottawa Senators shutout the New Jersey Devils 3-0. Alex Kovalev, Milan Michalek, and Jason Spezza scored to give Ottawa the win. I’ve got to say, this team is as confident as the oodles of talent teams back in the day. The difference? Pierre LeBruun said it well. This team is playing like a team, skill, heart, grit, and all the sandpaper you need to make the playoffs. How’s those [...]

How To Beat the New Jersey Devils

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Ottawa Senators haven’t beat the New Jersey Trappers Devils in a quite some time. Actually, it’s been 3 years. The last time we beat them was in the 2007 Playoffs, where we kicked Devil (and Martin Brodeur) ass. Obviously, everyone’s thirsty for noather one, especially since Ottawa is trying to make it 7 in a row. It would be especially sweet if they could beat the Devils. However, some things need to be accomplished, so listen up folks! It’s big time here! 1. Tape “Kick Me” to Zach Parise’s back. Will eventually decease by puck drop. 2. Tell Travis [...]

UFA/RFA Update

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

While the Ottawa Senators are enjoying their great 2009-10 NHL season, they may be in economic trouble in the off-season regarding the thing called the salary cap. They have 3 UFA’s and 5 RFA’s due for free agency this coming off-season. With half othe regular season gone, you can bet that Bryan Murray is already talking to some key players on their status. Here’s my take on them. Anton Volchenkov (UFA)- Without a doubt the most important player headed for free agency this summer. He is the team’s best defenseman and plays like a warrior. There should be no reason why [...]

Beantown Bound

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yet again, Ottawa Senator fans have to wake up early than usual and wtach their Sens play the Boston Bruins, in Boston on a matinee. Heard of this before? Just this past Monday, the Ottawa Senators played Boston in an early game, defeating them 5-1 on El Capitano’s Trick. Let’s hope that formula for success is repeated. I’d like to iterate that the Senators are 4 points ahead of the Bruins in the standings. Even if Boston snatches the win today, Ottawa will remain in 5th place in the Leastern Conference. However, if Ottawa can win the final game between [...]

Ode to the Blues

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ve gotta hand it to St.Louis, after they do us a big favor and beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 in OT, they drive across the bridge to play Ottawa. Remember last season’s meeting between the two teams? Well, you probably don’t because it wasn’t televised if though the game resulted in an Ottawa win. Mike Fisher potted a pair while Peter Regin ofr his first career NHL goal. St.Louis recently fired their coach, and I personally thought is was long overdue. Andy Murray is not the one to bring in a rebuilding team. Even though he brought the team to [...]

Daily Shots: Milky Comes Back and Stuck in a Picard

AUTHOR: | IN: Senators | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Just to inform everybody that this will be a daily thrashing-out of everything Sens from now on. Now, enjoy the first like it’s your last. Milan Michalek is back after missing for 7 games with a concussion after Mike (The most Obvious Non-Olympian) Green from the Washington Capitals hit him cleanly. We all love Milan Michalek, but ever sicne the winter storm started brewing, he hasn’t performed well. Maybe it’s a slump, maybe it’s just getting used to Ottawa. I think Milky will come back and play great and rack up goals but will head into a slump before re-energizing at [...]
