When the Ottawa Senators entered last night's game against the Seattle Kraken, they needed a bounce back game after putting up a tremendous effort in their 2-1 loss against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.

The Senators responded to their one-goal loss against the Rangers with a 3-0 shutout win over the Kraken. Anton Forsberg made 22 saves to record his second shutout of the season.

However, one thing that came out of the game may not have been important due to it being an empty-net goal, but Tim Stutzle is now part of Senators history and now owns an impressive all-time record that can be hard to break.

Stutzle owns Senators all-time goal record before turning 23 years old

Entering last night, Stutzle was tied for the most goals in Senators history with Martin Havlat before turning 23 years old with 96. Stutzle's empty-net goal in the third period to make it 3-0 with 2:14 remaining in the period was the one that broke Havlat's record and iced the game.

Stutzle now has 97 career goals now after breaking the record, but the better part for Stutzle is he has plenty of time to add on to the record as he won't turn 23 years old until Jan. 15. That offers more than enough time for Stutzle to add on more goals.

The Kraken offered to be the perfect opponent for Stutzle to break the record due to Stutzle having eight career points against the Kraken prior to yesterday's game. Sure enough, the Kraken were the perfect opponent for Stutzle, as he scored the empty-net goal and also recorded an assist in the win to make it more special for the milestone.

Stutzle is off to a tremendous start this season with being tied with Adam Gaudette for the second most goals on the team with six. Stutzle is also leading the Senators in assists with 10 and points with 16. Through 11 games into the season, Stutzle doesn't appear to be slowing down, and it's exactly what the Senators need.

Stutzle is a big part of the Senators having six wins this season and he will be destined to have a career year with how hot he is to start the season. The Senators won't play until Tuesday night when they travel to KeyBank Center to take on the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo, New York.
