Michael Amadio's playoff experience and solid play as a third and fourth line player with the Vegas Golden Knights helped draw the Ottawa Senators interest in signing him to a three-year contract in July 2024.

Last season, Amadio had a rough start to his Senators tenure, but had a solid final two months to help the team make the 2025 playoffs. Amadio finished his first season as a Senator with recording 27 points in 72 games.

This season, bigger expectations were on Amadio in his second season in Ottawa. So far, Amadio continues to put in work to be an underappreciated player on the team.

Amadio needs more appreciation in Ottawa

When Brady Tkachuk was lost for 6-8 weeks after undergoing thumb surgery just under one month ago, the Senators needed players to provide the goal scoring that Tkachuk provides. Amadio has provided the goal scoring that the Senators desperately needed to find.

Amadio went the first seven games of the season without recording a point. Now, Amadio's hot streak has been crucial for the Senators.

Over the past eight games, Amadio has recorded six points. Of Amadio's six points, five have been goals. Amadio has scored a goal in all three November games. Three of Amadio's goals have helped the Senators either tie the game or take the lead. The offensive surge from Amadio from last season to this season has been clear.

Last season, Amadio didn't score his fifth goal of the season until February 2025. Amadio has five goals this season through 15 games. Amadio is now tied with Drake Batherson for the fourth-most goals on the Senators' roster. Definitely a huge offensive improvement that Amadio has made in a big way this season.

Ottawa's game today against the Utah Mammoth at 7 p.m. ET offers as another chance for Amadio to continue his hot offensive surge. Amadio didn't record any points against Utah in the two games last season, so he will be hungry to change that today.
