In the 2020-21 season, Michael Amadio played in five games for the Ottawa Senators. Fast forward to July 2024, Amadio signed a three-year contract to join the Senators.
Amadio had recent success for the past three seasons with the Vegas Golden Knights at the time of the signing. Amadio was an underappreciated role player on the Golden Knights' 2023 Stanley Cup championship roster.
The first couple of months for Amadio into his second Senators tenure went rough. However, when the Senators needed Amadio the most, he's showed just why he needs more appreciation.
Amadio continues his underappreciated season
In February, Amadio started to turn the tables when he scored a goal in three of the first four games of the month. It wasn't until March that Amadio got hot to help the Senators.
Amadio's nine points in 15 games in March helped the Senators go 10-3-2 for the month. Last night against the Canadiens, Amadio showed why he's continued to be an underrated pickup.
Amadio recorded two assists in the Senators' 5-2 win last night against the Montreal Canadiens. With his two assists, Amadio set a new career-high for assists in a single season with 15.

Along with setting a new career-high for assists, Amadio has 26 points on the season, which is one point shy for tying his career-high for a single season.
Amadio is also making his presence known when he's on the ice. Amadio's +12 rating is the third highest on the Senators roster. What might sound shocking to some is Amadio's +12 rating is the highest among Senators forwards.
Amadio playing alongside Shane Pinto and Ridly Greig has been a huge boost to the Senators lineup. The line combined for three goals last night, with Pinto scoring twice to record a 20-goal season.
With clinching a playoff spot, Amadio will also be a huge role player to be relied on this Spring for the Senators. In the Golden Knights' 2023 Stanley Cup championship run, Amadio recorded 10 points in 16 games played. Amadio turned into one of Vegas' most underappreciated players with his playoff performance.
Amadio has turned his season around for the better after a rough start. With having the highest +/- rating among Senators forwards and setting a new career-high for assists in a season, Amadio needs more appreciation for his contributions for the Senators this season. Amadio and the Senators will be back to work tomorrow when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 1 p.m. ET at Canadian Tire Centre.
