The Ottawa Senators cannot catch a break; they've lost yet another player to injury. This time is Andre Burakovsky, who headed down the tunnel after taking a hard hit and won't return to the game.

The Senators headed into the game against the Kings, receiving good news with the return of their captain Thomas Chabot. Unfortunately, now they have to deal with another injury to their forward group after losing Warren Foegele to injury against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Senators will need to make a roster move

As of right now, there is no word on Burakovsky; however, if he is out even week-to-week, the Senators will need to turn to the Belleville Senators in the AHL. They currently are carrying 13 forwards, but with both Foegele and Burakovsky out of the lineup, they will need to call someone up.

This is where the Senators should look to a veteran player like Sammy Blais or Philip Tomasino, who could step into the lineup and try and provide a spark within the bottom six. There are other options, such as Kasper Halttunen, Tyler Boucher or even Kurtis MacDermid. However, this is exactly why Steve Staios went out and signed players like Blais and Tomasino so they can jump into the lineup and can be relied upon.

Especially in the situation that the organization is in right now. They are losing players to injury at a high rate, so rather than leaning on a rookie or a less seasoned NHL player, they should look no further than Blais or Tomasino.

Again, as of right now, there is no word on Burakovsky and how long he could be out for. The important thing is that the Senators' front office and coaching staff are prepared to make the roster move as early as they can, considering they are on a West Coach road trip and have a difficult back-to-back this weekend.
