The Ottawa Senators are prepared to take on the Los Angeles Kings in the next stop on their West Coast road trip. Which will see them welcome back captain Thomas Chabot to the lineup.
Chabot has been out of the lineup since Oct. 17th after he suffered an injury against the Philadelphia Flyers and has dealt with that upper-body injury since. However, now he is cleared to return to the lineup on Thursday night against the Kings after rejoining the main group at practice on Monday, Oct. 26th.
Chabot's return provides a huge boost to the Senators' lineup
Chabot is not only the captain of the organization but also a huge piece to the puzzle in Ottawa. Who have dealt with a ton of injuries throughout the start of this season, and despite them being off to a good start, they are in desperate need of players to return to the lineup.
Chabot spoke to reporters about his return to the lineup; here is what he said.
""Obviously, I missed a few games; that always sucks, but we felt like it was some needed time after what happened, so no, I'm just happy to be back here and back in the lineup. I think it’s trying to get back in the game slowly; it’s just trying to get back to keeping it simple and trying to play my game… I’ve gone through it a few times; the team’s playing well and doing well, and we’ve had some success all year, so it’s just me bringing my game and adding to that.”

The Senators enter the game against the Kings coming off a loss against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night. Which also saw Warren Foegele leave the game with an injury, and now his name is added to the long list of players bitten by the injury bug.
Chabot and the rest of the Senators will try to turn things around against the Kings, as Jonas Johansson will make his third start in a row. With Linus Ullmark out of the lineup, the starting job is open for taking, and with Samuel Ersson playing awful, Johansson has stepped up and taken the reins. Who knows, he may even have earned the permanent backup role when Ullmark returns.
However, for now, the focus is on the Kings, as they look to get back into the win column.
