Josh Norris was having a promising season for the Ottawa Senators. After his shorthanded goal this past Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild, Norris is now at 19 goals for the season, which is the second most on the Senators behind Brady Tkachuk's 20 goals.
However, during the game against the Wild in the third period, Norris would go down the tunnel with an injury and not return to the game. Not having Norris didn't quite matter at the end of the game as the Senators won the game 6-0.
Tonight, the Senators are in the Music City to begin a four-game road trip against the Nashville Predators at 7:30 p.m. ET. Now, the injury to Norris has come back to bite the Senators.
Norris won't play against Predators; out for a few weeks
Today, head coach Travis Green confirmed that Norris won't play against the Predators and will be out of the lineup for a few weeks.
Norris didn't make the trip to Nashville and now he will be out for some time. The good thing for Norris is the 4 Nations Face-Off will begin next Thursday, so there will be some time to heal and get healthy.
Not having Norris will be a huge loss. Along with tonight's game, the Senators have two road games against the Lightning and one road game against the Florida Panthers. Both the Lightning and Senators are eager to gain ground on the Senators in the standings, and not having Norris on the four-game road trip is a huge offensive blow.
Anton Forsberg will get the start tonight in between the pipes against the Predators.
