From 2019-2022, forward Connor Brown was a member of the Ottawa Senators. During those three seasons, Brown was a solid Senator by recording 117 points in 191 games with the team.

For the past two seasons, Brown has been a member of the Edmonton Oilers. Brown and the Oilers fell in the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers.

Now, the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals is a rematch between the Panthers and Oilers. Brown is seeking his first Stanley Cup in his career. After not playing in the Oilers' final two games of their Western Conference Finals series against the Dallas Stars, Brown was eager to get back on the right track to start the chance at winning the Cup, but it didn't work out despite the Oilers coming out on top.

Brown was dud in Oilers' Game 1 win

Brown missed Game 4 and Game 5 against the Stars due to an undisclosed injury. The 31-year-old returned for Game 1 against the Panthers, but his impact wasn't quite there.

While the Oilers won Game 1 in overtime thanks to Leon Draisaitl's overtime winner on the powerplay with under one minute to play, Brown recorded no points and had a -2 rating in the Oilers' 4-3 win.

Brown's -2 rating was the lowest among the Oilers roster in Game 1. However, Draisaitl scoring the overtime winner helped put Brown's struggles away.

In the 2025 playoffs, Brown has been an underappreciated player for the Oilers with recording eight points in 15 games. However, Brown had some struggles in Game 1.

The 2025 Stanley Cup Finals is off to an exciting start with a thrilling Game 1. Now, Brown and the Oilers will attempt to go up 2-0 in the series with Game 2 being tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
