Connor Brown spent three seasons of his NHL career with the Ottawa Senators from 2019-2022. At 31 years old, Brown was still in search of winning his first Stanley Cup.
Last season, Brown joined the Edmonton Oilers and suffered a brutal seven-game series loss in the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers. One year later, the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals would feature a rematch between the Oilers and Panthers.
Brown and the Oilers had the chance to earn redemption and defeat the Oilers. However, it was the same result in 2025 and Brown's play was a struggle.
Brown was no show in Oilers' SCF series loss
Even after Brown recorded a -2 rating in Game 1, confidence was high on the Oilers' side after winning Game 1 in overtime by a final of 4-3. However, the Panthers' 5-1 win Game 6 helped capture their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship.
In the series, Brown was a no show for the Oilers. Brown didn't record a single point in the entire six-game series. Brown recorded a +1 rating in Game 6, but Edmonton's goal was to cut the deficit to 5-1 with five minutes left to play in regulation.
With the Panthers winning the 2025 Stanley Cup, the 2024-25 NHL season is officially over. Now, the Senators and the rest of the 31 teams no focus ahead to the 2025 NHL Draft.
The 2025 NHL Draft is scheduled for June 27-28 at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. The Senators have the 21st overall pick in the first round.
