Former 2018 third-round draft pick Jan Jenik has struggled to find his way to get full-time NHL play. Prior to signing with the Ottawa Senators before this season, Jenik had only played in 22 games in four seasons with the then Arizona Coyotes.
Jenik has played in just two NHL games this season in Ottawa. In both games, Jenik went pointless. Jenik has had quality time playing in the AHL with the Belleville Senators.
On March 5, Jenik recorded a Gordie Howe hat trick for the first time since January 2022 in Belleville's 6-2 win against the Hershey Bears. Over the past two games, Jenik showed Belleville and Ottawa just how high his potential could be with two outstanding games.
Jenik records eight points in last two games
Over the past two games, Jenik put the AHL on notice with two outstanding games against the Bridgeport Islanders. On a back-to-back, Jenik helped Belleville earn 6-1 wins in both games.
In Friday's game, Jenik recorded an impressive five-assist game. Jenik's five assists tied the franchise record for most assists in a single game along with Drake Batherson. A solid player to tie a record with considering how important Batherson is to Ottawa's roster today.
Last night, Jenik followed up his five-assist game by recording a three-point game. Jenik scored a goal and had two assists. Jenik's goal that he scored to make it 2-0 turned out to be the game-winning goal.

With recording eight points over the past two games, Jenik is now at 23 points on the season. Jenik had some struggles, but is now raising his game higher than ever in the AHL this season.
Belleville won't return to action until this upcoming Friday night when they take on the Toronto Marlies on a back-to-back. Each team will have one home game against one another on the back-to-back.
