The Ottawa Senators were hoping Angus Crookshank would be a fifth-round draft steal when the team selected him with the 126th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.
However, Crookshank didn't get much playing time in the NHL. Crookshank has recorded just four points in 21 NHL games with the Senators.
In the 2024-25 season, Crookshank played in just eight NHL games, but made his presence known with the Belleville Senators. Now, the Senators say so long to another prospect.
Crookshank signs in NJ
Today, Crookshank left the Senators and signed a two-year contract with the New Jersey Devils. Although his NHL stint was short, Crookshank still had potential to do more, and it was shown in Belleville.

This past March with Belleville, Crookshank set the all-time record for most goals scored in franchise history. Crookshank scored 77 goals in 202 games in his career with Belleville.
At 25 years old, potential is still there for Crookshank in the NHL. It seems that it wasn't working out in Ottawa.
Crookshank was fighting for NHL playing time and couldn't get much of it. Now, Crookshank has a chance in the Garden State with the Devils.
