2025 preseason has arrived for Senators; clash against Maple Leafs in Ottawa

May 1, 2025, was the last time the Ottawa Senators played a hockey game. It was when the Senators were eliminated in the first round of the 2025 playoffs at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 6.

Last week, some of the Senators' top prospects got to show their potential in two games of the Prospects Showdown in at Bell Centre Montreal, Quebec. The Senators won one game and lost the second game in overtime. Today, it's now the first step toward the start of the 2025-26 season for the Senators, and it begins with a Battle of Ontario.

Sens host Leafs to start 2025 preseason

The Senators begin the 2025 preseason with hosting the Maple Leafs at Canadian Tire Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.

Today is the first of six preseason games in 2025 for the Senators. The first two games are against the Maple Leafs in a three-day span.

Training camp began for the Senators this past Thursday. Now, the work to the 2025-26 season awaits with the preseason starting today. With the preseason starting against a hated rival, it can be used as extra motivation to start the preseason off strong.

The Senators and Maple Leafs played each other two times last year in preseason. The Senators won both games by one goal.
