In the wake of the Matt Duchene trade the Ottawa Senators must say goodbye to a beloved player. Kyle Turris is now a member of the Nashville Predators.

When Turris came to Ottawa Senators his career was a whirlwind. He was drafted third overall by Phoenix, but requested a trade just a few years into his tenure there. Coming into Ottawa with something to prove he more than exceeded expectations.

Becoming A Number One Centre

When Turris came to Ottawa he was set to be the Sens number two centre for years to come. Behind Jason Spezza in the depth chart he was in a good spot with the team. However, after three seasons in Ottawa he was forced into the number one centre role. Spezza had requested a trade and was eventually sent to Dallas.

As the Sens number one centre for the past three seasons Turris performed very well. He became an underrated star for the Ottawa Senators and was one of the key contributors to the Sens offense each season. He was one of the Sens best players during the Hamburglar run as well as these past playoffs. His highlight play last season being his game five overtime winner over the New York Rangers.

Traded To Nashville

Kyle Turris looked set to be a member of the Ottawa Senators for the rest of his career. However, in the last year of his contract management and Turris were unable to find common ground. This led to him being dealt in the three team blockbuster that sent Matt Duchene to Ottawa. Turris now finds himself in Nashville with a six year, six million dollar contract.
