SENSHOT’S CHOICE: Nicolas Petan from Portland Winterhawks of the WHL . Although undersized at 5’9″ and 165 lbs, Petan has the ability to follow in the footsteps of little guys like Martin St. Louis and Nathan Gerbe. His offensive instincts are impressive, and his 120 points a +68 rating in 71 games this season would indicate he can play both ends of the ice. Obviously with numbers like that, size has a big factor in his draft ranking, but the Flames are in desperate need of offensive players and Petan could fit that mold as a supporting centre.
