The 2024-25 AHL season is winding down. At the moment, the Bellville Senators had a recent cold stretch to put them out of playoff contention.

After defeating the Toronto Marlies on March 21, Belleville has lost three of their last nine games. Those six losses put Belleville in a tough position to climb out of. However, momentum might be back for Belleville after a 4-2 road win in Rochester on Wednesday.

As the season is winding down, Belleville is trying to find a way to get in the playoffs with players who have shown progress this season. However, it can shape out to be difficult to get in the dance.

Belleville's chances at making 2025 playoffs are dwindling

As of this morning, Belleville trails Toronto by four points for the fifth spot in the North Division. The top five seeds in the North Division will qualify for a spot in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Both Belleville and Toronto have five games remaining on the season. Belleville still has a chance to make the playoffs, but if they don't start winning games and getting losses from Toronto, the playoff chances will be low for Belleville.

Belleville's remaining schedule:

Today @ Springfield Thunderbirds (7 p.m. ET)

Tomorrow @ Providence Bruins (7 p.m. ET)

4/16 @ Laval Rocket (7 p.m. ET)

4/18 @ Laval Rocket (7 p.m. ET)

4/19 vs Laval Rocket (7 p.m. ET)

Toronto's remaining schedule:

Tomorrow @ Cleveland Monsters (noon ET)

Sunday vs Cleveland Monsters (4 p.m. ET)

4/16 @ Utica Comets (7 p.m. ET)

4/18 @ Rochester Americans (7 p.m. ET)

4/19 vs Rochester Americans (7 p.m. ET)

One major advantage Belleville has over Toronto is two more regulation wins, but the schedule for Belleville might be a tough task.

Having four of the last five games on the road will be tough. All three teams on Belleville's remaining schedule have already clinched a playoff spot. To make it more tough, Belleville will play Laval three consecutive games with the first two games being on the road.

Rochester is the only team on Toronto's schedule that has clinched a playoff spot. Two games against Cleveland will be pivotal for Toronto with Toronto trailing Cleveland by two points in the division. Utica is eliminated from the playoffs.

The fifth and final spot in the North Division is going to be a battle. While Belleville has a chance to get in, they will need to win and get major help from Cleveland, Utica and Rochester defeating Toronto.
