Two prospects on the Ottawa Senators that needed to show major improvement in the AHL with the Belleville Senators this season were Tyler Boucher and Mads Sogaard.

So far this AHL season, Boucher and Sogaard have had rough seasons. Boucher would record his first AHL point after 16 games this season. For Sogaard, he's 0-5-1 with a 3.69 goals against average and .858 save percentage this season. Sogaard was a disaster for Belleville in his last start this past Friday when he allowed in four goals in just over 22 minutes.

Both Boucher and Sogaard have struggled deeply this season and need to show improvement at some point, but the wait will have to continue for both of them now.

Boucher and Sogaard will be out of Belleville's lineup due to injuries

Belleville head coach David Bell said that over the weekend, Boucher suffered a "flukey" injury. The injury will put Boucher out of the lineup for "awhile." For Sogaard, he's injured again and will be out of the lineup for weeks, heading into February.

While Sogaard has disappointed this season, Boucher now heading out of the lineup makes it more difficult for the former 10th overall pick from the 2021 NHL Draft to catch a break. Boucher has yet to play an NHL game and is turning into a major draft bust with not playing in the NHL since being drafted. In 28 AHL games this season, Boucher has five points

Belleville returns to action tomorrow night on the road against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at PPL Center.
