Defenseman Thomas Chabot needed to have a big improving season with the Ottawa Senators this season. While playing in all 43 games, the 27-year-old has been a big boost to the Senators team.
Chabot's 19 points this season is tied for the seventh most on the Senators and the second most points among Senators defensemen. Chabot's +10 rating is the second highest on the Senators.
Unfortunately, the Senators are dealt a blow to the lineup as they get ready to face the Washington Capitals tonight at 7 p.m. ET. The Senators will be finding themselves with one of their core defensemen.
Chabot out against Capitals
Less than halfway through the first period in the Senators' last game on Tuesday night against the New York Islanders, Chabot needed to leave the game after taking a puck to the face. Chabot would miss the remainder of the game after needing to leave the game. Even without Chabot, the Senators would win 2-0 to win their third consecutive game.
Without Chabot in the lineup, Donovan Sebrango will be in. The Senators will have even a tougher test against a high powered Capitals offense led by Alex Ovechkin whose 20 goals lead the Capitals. Tom Wilson's 19 goals is the second highest on the Capitals.
The Capitals have eight players on the roster with at least 10 goals on the roster. Dylan Strome's 46 points this season leads the Capitals.
