In July 2024, defenseman Jeremy Davies signed with the Ottawa Senators on a one-year, two-way contract. Prior to his signing in Ottawa, Davies had struggled to get NHL playing time.

At 28 years old, Davies has only played in 23 NHL games. Davies has not played an NHL games since Dec. 17, 2022, when he was a member of the Buffalo Sabres. Davies had played in 22 games prior to his one game as a Sabre when he as a member of the Nashville Predators from 2020-2022. In his NHL career, Davies has only recorded three assists.

Davies has played in the AHL with the Belleville Senators all season. However, Davies has made significant strides in Belleville that not many people are talking about.

Davies is second on Belleville's roster in points for a defenseman

While most of the talk about Belleville may be about Stephen Halliday or Angus Crookshank, not everyone is talking about the progress that Davies had made in Bellevile this season.

Davies is second on Belleville's roster with 37 points only behind Halliday. Along with his 37 points, Davies leads Belleville with 29 assists, and his eight goals are the most among Belleville defensemen. Davies has shown off his progression in Belleville tremendously.

Davies' 37 points is a new career-high for AHL points in a single season. Prior to this season, Davies recorded 35 points last season with the Rochester Americans to set a then career-high, but this season has been a big jump for him.

Davies has recorded eight multi-point games this season. In one of those eight games, Davies recorded an impressive four-assist game on Jan. 29 against the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Belleville has seemed to be a perfect fit for Davies to grow his game in the AHL. Davies and Belleville will start up a back-to-back tonight against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before playing against the Hershey Bears tomorrow night. Both games are on the road in Pennsylvania.
