Since 2023, Taylor Swift has been big in the sports world since dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This past June, the hockey world got to see Swift and Kelce attend Game 4 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals.
Recently on the New Heights Podcast with Travis and his brother Jason, Swift announced her new album will be called "The Life of a Showgirl." There's no denying that Swift fans will be buzzing when the album gets released.
Swift's lyrics can be powerful for any fan to listen to, even if it's a sports team. For the Ottawa Senators, there are lyrics to a song that describe the Senators right now.
2022 song from Swift describes Senators
Today, Bleacher Report's Sara Civian wrote an article titled "Taylor Swift Lyrics for Every NHL Team's Upcoming 2025-26 Season." For the Senators, Civian chose Swift lyrics from her song "Lavender Haze."
Lyrics Civian chose from Lavender Haze:
All they keep asking me (All they keep asking me)
Is if I'm gonna be your bride
The only girl they see (Only kinda girl they see)
Is a one-night or a wife
Civian first asked if we can let the Senators cook after saying the lyrics heading into the new season, then explained why the Senators are fit for those particular lyrics.
"They're in the lavender haze between finally making the playoffs and becoming true contenders right now, and they get this season to revel in that and enjoy the next run without thinking too much about what's next," Civian said.
There's no denying the Senators are in a position where they can be a true contender, or fall back down. 2025 marked the first time the Senators made the playoffs since 2017.
With making the playoffs for the first time in eight years, the Senators are destined to show that 2025's playoff appearance wasn't a fluke, and that the team can compete for years to come. One thing is for sure, the Senators have a roster and young core built to win now.
Led by captain Brady Tkachuk, Sens fans' love for their captain have never been higher. Linus Ullmark showed why he was a top goaltender last season, and Thomas Chabot had a big year.
The young core is where the talk about the Senators come in to the discussion. Tim Stutzle, Dylan Cozens, Jake Sanderson, Ridly Greig and Leevi Merilainen, were named one of the six best young cores under 25 years old in the NHL in late-July.
Stutzle led the Senators in assists and points last season. Sanderson recorded a personal best 57-point season. Cozens' impact after being traded from the Buffalo Sabres was big. Greig recorded a personal best 34-point season. Merilainen's 12 NHL games in Winter helped the Senators clinch a playoff spot.
With the core and other key pieces, the Senators have the ability to be a contending team in the Eastern Conference. However, the 2025-26 season will be the first to see if 2025's playoff appearance could be a one-year fluke or not.
