Who doesn't love a hockey fight? A good ol' fashion donnybrook?

Well, the fans at Little Caesars Arena clearly do. They were treated to a nice line-brawl tonight in the game between the Ottawa Senators and the Detroit Red Wings. And the best part is, it was the most unlikely players involved.

Chabot & Larkin spark line brawl

When the Senators named Thomas Chabot as team captain before the season kicked off. No one would've guessed that he would have had this good of a start to the season. Not only has he played out of his mind, tonight he took on Dylan Larkin and took care of business.

The altercation started when Larkin decided to go after Ridly Greig, who returned from a two-game suspension. Which caught the ire of Chabot, and all hell broke loose. Within seconds, all 10 players were involved, and one of the pairs that broke off were Chabot and Larkin. Which didn't last long with Larkin getting tossed to the ice, and just as that was happening Ben Charoit took on Greig as well as Shane Pinto and Alex DeBrincat.

Things did eventually cool down; however, it did take some time, and there were punches thrown. Including between the Greig and Chariot fight that saw Charoit winning that scrap. Regardless of who won and who lost, this is exactly what Senators fans want to see.

Even with their former captain Brady Tkachuk, they are still the same pesky team that they have been known for. It just took Greig getting back into the lineup for it all to come to fruition. But, now that it has, it is clear that players like their new captain, Chabot, won't be afraid to stand up for his teammates.

Ironically enough, it all started with a reverse hit by Grieg on former Senators forward DeBrincat that didn't sit well with the Red Wings captain, Larkin, who, much like Tkachuk, didn't want to stay on his club and requested a trade. The only difference is he hasn't been traded yet; had he been, he wouldn't have been rag dolled by Chabot.
