The Ottawa Senators are having a brutal stretch at the moment. After Thursday night's 3-2 loss against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Senators are now on a season high four game losing streak, and are in second to last place in the Eastern Conference with a 8-10-1 record.

The Senators are welcoming another tough Western Conference team tonight at home, the Vancouver Canucks. However, the Canucks are entering tonight's game cold, and the Senators need another win to get back in the Eastern Conference race, yet again.

Senators host Canucks at home

The Senators host the Canucks at Canadian Tire Centre with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET. The Canucks swept the season series 2-0-0 against the Senators last season and outscored the Senators 11-5 in the two games.

Against the Golden Knights, Linus Ullmark needed a bounce back game after allowing in five goals in two consecutive starts. Ullmark responded with making 29 saves, but made great saves to keep the Senators in the game for the entire time.

After Ullmark's game, hope appears to be headed in the right direction after concern around Ullmark grew deeply after his poor play. However, the offense has gone cold with scoring just four goals in the past three games.

In the second period against Vegas, Ottawa's offense had a stretch of over 11 minutes without a shot on goal. Adam Gaudette and Drake Batherson scored in the third period in the loss against on Thursday. Vegas goaltender Ilya Samsonov made 38 saves to defeat Ottawa.

As for the Canucks, they are cold with losing three of their last four to fall to 9-6-3. Quinn Hughes leads the Canucks with 15 assists and 19 points. Outside of Hughes, the Canucks have seven other players with 10 points or more. The Canucks will be without J.T. Miller after he took a personal leave of absence on Tuesday.

Even without Miller in the lineup who has six goals this season, Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and Pius Suter each have six goals, which is tied for most on the Canucks.
