On Saturday night, the Ottawa Senators kept their season alive with a 4-3 overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 4. The Game 4 win meant the series needed to go back to Toronto for a Game 5.

Even with trailing in the series, the Senators kept a positive mindset that they can force another game in the series. With their backs against the wall again but in Toronto this time, the Senators once again refused to go down.

The Senators defeated the Maple Leafs 4-0 in Game 5 at Scotiabank Arena. With the win, the Senators now force a Game 6 back in Ottawa.

In the first period, Toronto's offense came out firing against Linus Ullmark. Even with 12 shots on goal against Ullmark, he stood tall and made all 12 saves to keep the game scoreless heading into the first intermission. Ullmark's goaltending in the first period would help the Senators set the tone early in the second period.

Thomas Chabot scored his first career playoff goal on a wrist shot from the blue line 3:46 into the second period to give the Senators a 1-0 lead. Chabot's goal helped the Senators get their first lead of the whole series while playing in Toronto, and it was the only goal scored of the second period.

At 6:58 of the third penalty, Ridly Greig took an awful holding penalty to grant the Maple Leafs a powerplay. Trailing by one goal, it offered as a phenomenal chance for the Maple Leafs to tie the game, but then Ottawa's penalty kill unit came alive.

The Maple Leafs would turn the puck over to Adam Gaudette who then was able to force a 2-on-1 shorthanded chance with Dylan Cozens. Gaudette would find Cozens on a perfect pass for Cozens to bury past Anthony Stolarz to extend the Senators lead to 2-0 with a shorthanded goal. Cozens would score his first career playoff goal with his goal.

Cozens' shorthanded goal marked the second consecutive game in which the Senators scored a shorthanded goal. Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk each scored an empty-net goal to ice the game. Both Stutzle and Tkachuk each recorded a three-point game.

When the Senators needed Ullmark more than ever, he delivered with the best game of his Senators career. Ullmark made 27 saves to earn his first career playoff shutout.

Game 6 of the series will be on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET at Canadian Tire Centre. Once again, the Senators will need a win to keep their season alive and force a Game 7. If the Senators lose Game 6, their season will end at home against their most hated rival.
