Last night, the Ottawa Senators hosted the Boston Bruins to begin their second back-to-back of the 2025-26 season. Tonight, a road game now awaits the Senators in the Windy City against the Chicago Blackhawks.
A back-to-back in two different time zones can offer as a tough challenge for any team, but it's one that the Senators will have to take on early into the season.

Last night against the Bruins, the Senators dominated the game by winning 7-2. It was just the second time in franchise history that the Senators scored seven goals in back-to-back games, and the first time since the 1993-94 season.
Drake Batherson, Tim Stutzle and Jake Sanderson each recorded a three-point game in the win. Batherson recorded his second consecutive three-point game. Leevi Merilainen showed improvement by making 27 saves to earn the win after allowing in seven goals in his season debut on Oct. 15.
For the Blackhawks, they are off to a surprising steady start in October with having a 4-3-2 overall record for a team eager to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017. The Blackhawks have won four of their last six games, but fell 3-1 to the Los Angeles Kings in their most recent game on Sunday.
Frank Nazar leads the Blackhawks with nine points; Ryan Donato leads the Blackhawks with five goals; Connor Bedard and Teuvo Teravainen are each tied for second on the Blackhawks in points with eight; Teravainen also leads the Blackhawks with seven assists and a +6 rating.
Last season, both games for the Senators against the Blackhawks resulted in one-goal games that both were decided in overtime. The Senators won the first game 4-3 in Chicago on March 5; the Blackhawks won the second game by the same score in Ottawa on April 15.
