After a 4-2 loss on Sunday against the New York Islanders, the Ottawa Senators dropped to 12-13-2 on the season. As the Anaheim Ducks come into Ottawa, tonight's game has pressure for the Senators as they are currently four points out of a playoff spot.

Tonight is the final game of a four-game home stand for the Senators. With having a 2-1-0 record so far on the home stand, the Senators will be looking to avenge their loss against the Ducks from 10 nights ago in Southern California.

Senators close out home stand against Ducks

The Senators host the Ducks at Canadian Tire Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. The Ducks won the first meeting against the Senators 4-3 in a shootout in Anaheim on Dec. 1. Brady Tkachuk scored two goals and Linus Ullmark made 31 saves in the loss.

Sunday's loss marked another brutal loss on the season for the Senators. Despite Adam Gaudette setting a new career-high in goals for a single season, the Senators' penalty kill went rough. The Islanders converted on both of their powerplay attempts to make the Senators now allow a powerplay goal in seven of their last eight games.

Anton Forsberg allowed in three goals on 12 shots on goal by the Islanders. In the third period alone, the Islanders recorded three shots on goal.

As for the Ducks, they come into tonight's game in last place in the Pacific Division with a 10-12-4 record. The Ducks have lost four of their last five games with the most recent game being a 3-2 shootout loss on Monday night against the Montreal Canadiens.

Troy Terry leads the Ducks in goals with eight, assists with 13 and points with 21. Frank Vatrano has the second most points on the Ducks with 13. Outside of Terry, no other Duck has 10 assists or more this season.

With still remaining close in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference, tonight is a pivotal game for the Senators. Closing out the four-game home stand on a high note would help the Senators gain momentum before their back-to-back scheduled on Friday and Saturday.
