The Ottawa Senators began 2025 last night with a 4-2 loss against the Dallas Stars to fall to 19-16-2 on the season. Now, it's another quick turnaround against the St. Louis Blues.
The Senators come into St. Louis concluding their first back-to-back of 2025, and the Blues come into tonight well rested, but it's another challenge the Senators must face.
Senators head to STL to face Blues
The Senators travel to Enterprise Center to take on the Blues with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. The Senators are looking to sweep the two-game season series agains the Blues.
Last night against the Stars, the Senators jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first period. After the first period, the Senators couldn't generate enough offense. In the third period, the Senators recorded two shots on goal to finish the game with 13 shots on goal.
Brady Tkachuk and Ridly Greig scored the goals for the Senators. Greig scored a goal in his third consecutive game. Leevi Merilainen made 21 saves in the loss.
As for the Blues, they come into tonight's game with an 18-17-4 record. The Blues ended 2024 with winning three of their last four games. The most recent game the Blues played was a 6-2 win at the 2025 Winter Classic (despite it being on New Year's Eve) against the Chicago Blackhawks at Wrigley Field.
Jordan Kyrou leads the Blues with 16 goals and 32 points. Robert Thomas is second on the Blues with 29 points and leads the team with 21 assists.
In the first meeting between the Senators and Blues, the Senators blew out the Blues 8-1 in Ottawa on Oct. 29. Adam Gaudette, Tim Stutzle and Tkachuk each recorded two goals in the win. Stutzle would add two assists to have a four-point game.
