After Thursday night's 5-4 overtime win against the Washington Capitals, the Senators closed out January going 8-5-2 and now have a 27-20-4 record. Now, the Senators begin February against the Minnesota Wild.

Senators begin February and conclude season series against Wild
The Senators host the Wild at Canadian Tire Centre with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
Thursday night saw a back-and-forth game for the Senators. After the Senators held a 4-2 lead with under 10 minutes remaining in regulation, the Capitals came back and tied the game at four with 5:29 remaining.
Bend don't break is an old saying. It would come through for the Senators. Thomas Chabot scored the overtime winner on his 28th birthday to prevent a comeback win for the Capitals. Josh Norris recorded three points in the win, and Chabot and Shane Pinto each recorded one goal and an assist.
As for the Wild, they come into tonight's game with a 31-17-4 record. The Wild have won their past three games with the most recent being a 4-0 shutout win on the road against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.
The Wild will be without leading point scorer and dynamic player Kirill Kaprizov after he recently had surgery for a lower body injury. With Kaprizov out for some time, the Wild will turn to their two other productive point scorers Marco Rassi and Matt Boldy. Rassi is second on the Wild with 28 assists and 46 points. Boldy is third on the Wild with 45 points. Both Rassi and Boldy are tied for second on the Wild behind Kaprizov with 18 goals each this season.
In the first meeting this season between the Senators and Wild on Dec. 29, the Senators earned a big 3-1 win in St. Paul. The Senators found themselves trailing 1-0 after the first period, then scored three unanswered goals. Josh Norris' powerplay goal with 7:18 remaining in regulation would be the game-winning goal.
While the Senators have won their past three consecutive games, which all have came at home, the Wild have won 20 out of 28 road games this season.
