After snapping their five-game losing streak on Monday night at home against the Calgary Flames, the Ottawa Senators are headed back on the road to California for three games.

Although the San Jose Sharks have missed the playoffs every season since the 2019-20 season, the Senators have had issues beating the Sharks in San Jose, but they need to face the challenge of being able to win in San Jose.

The Senators travel to SAP Center to play the Sharks with puck drop being at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Senators have not won a game in San Jose against the Sharks since March 7, 2020.

On Monday night, the Senators earned a much needed 4-3 win against the Flames to improve to 9-11-1. Anton Forsberg earned his fourth win of the season by making 24 saves to earn his confidence back.

Brady Tkachuk and Drake Batherson each recorded a goal and an assist. Ridly Greig and Jake Sanderson each recorded two assists as well. The Senators got a huge boost from Cole Reinhardt who scored his first NHL goal after filling in for David Perron who had to miss the game due to an upper body injury.

As for the Sharks, they are in seventh place in the Pacific Division with a 7-12-5 record. The Sharks have lost six of their last eight games, but earned an impressive 7-2 win in their last game on Monday night at home against the Los Angeles Kings.

Despite the Sharks struggles, Mikael Granlund has been a stand out for the Sharks with leading the team 24 points. Grandlund is tied for first on the team in goals with nine along with Tyler Toffoli and Fabian Zetterlund. Grandlund is also tied for the most assists on the team with 15 along with William Eklund.

The Senators certainly have struggled with playing on the road this season with having a 3-6-0 record. However, if the Senators don't want to fall out of the playoff race in the Eastern Conference in late November, earning a road win in an arena that they haven't won in over four years would be a step in the right direction to start off the three-game California road trip.
