This past Saturday, the Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild met at Canadian Tire Centre for a crucial game. Long story short, the game was dominated by the Senators as they won 6-0.

Even with six goals scored in the game by the Senators, there was one play from the game that people talked about. It involved Ryan Hartman and Tim Stutzle. Nearing the end of the second period, Hartman received a match penalty for five minutes for an attempt to injure Stutzle.

Hartman was suspended twice last season, and some might say that an attempt to injure a player is worthy of a suspension. Now, Hartman will be suspended.

Hartman suspended for 10 games for his penalty on Stutzle

Tonight, the NHL suspended Hartman for 10 games for his attempt to injure Stutzle. It's now the third suspension Hartman received in a 15-month span after Hartman was suspended in November and April of last season.

On the play Hartman attempted to injure Stutzle, Hartman's right elbow can be seen going into Stutzle's head going into the ice. Stutzle received a cut by his left eye as a result of the play.

In the first 2:52 of the third period on the five-minute powerplay, the Senators scored three powerplay goals. Stutzle finished the game by recording three points in the win to get his payback.

Hartman has 48 hours on if he wants to appeal the suspension or not.
