At the 2020 NHL Draft, the Ottawa Senators selected Cole Reinhardt with the 181st overall pick in the draft. Over the next five seasons, Reinhardt had a battle to get NHL play.
Since being drafted, Reinhardt has only played in 18 NHL games. Reinhardt has recorded two NHL points in his career. Reinhardt played in 17 NHL games in 2024-25, but had success in the AHL with the Belleville Senators.
Reinhardt was a free agent after the 2024-25 season concluded, and now the 25-year-old is moving on from the Senators.
Reinhardt will sign elsewhere.
Reinhardt capped off the AHL season in Belleville strong with recording 32 points in 45 games. Reinhardt was one of Belleville's top offensive players, but the offense will be gone his tenure with the Senators ending.
Today, Reinhardt's agent said that he will sign a new contract, but not with the Senators organization.
Cole Reinhardt's agent says he is signing a deal that is NOT with the Ottawa Senators organization.#Sens

If Reinhardt was to re-sign with the Senators, he would've been fighting to get NHL playing time again, mainly on the fourth line. However, a new opportunity for Reinhardt will be there for the 2025-26 season.
