Brady Tkachuk is one of the most important pieces on the Ottawa Senators roster with being the team'c captain. In the first game of the 2025-26 season, Tkachuk showed his presence with recording three assits in the Senators' 5-4 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Now, Tkachuk has injury concern around him. In today's 4-1 loss to the Nashvile Predators, Tkachuk sustained an injury when he was cross-checked on a play by Predators defenseman Roman Josi in the first period. The play was called a penalty by the officials, but Tkachuk was frustrated at Jose for the cross-check.
Tkachuk ended up playing 13:53 of ice time in the loss. Following the game, Travis Green said that Tkachuk wasn't being held out due to precautionary reasons. Tkachuk was on the bench for a majority of the third period.
Moving forward, the Senators evaluate their captain's status. Tkachuk was seen wearing an ice pack on his wrist after the game.
At 1-2-0, the Senators losing Tkachuk in the lineup could hurt them if he will have to be out. The Senators' next game will be on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET when they take on the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
