Jan Jenik was the former 65th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft of the then Arizona Coyotes. However, from 2020-2024, Jenik only recorded six points in 22 games with the Coyotes.

Today, the Senators recalled up Jenik along with Nikolas Matinpalo from Belleville.
Jenik appears closer to making his Senators debut with getting recalled up from Belleville. On Dec. 28, Matinpalo was recalled up from Belleville. The following night, Matinpalo would make his season debut for the Senators against the Minnesota Wild.
In this case, Jenik could be drawing close to making his Senators debut. Jenik's play in Belleville has been steady.
In 13 games in Belleville this season, Jenik has seven points. Jenik recorded points in the past two games in Belleville. In the last game, Jenik scored his fourth goal of the season.
The Senators will be playing their final game of their nine-game road trip tomorrow night at 7 p.m. ET against the Detroit Red Wings. With the Senators losing four of their last five games, head coach Travis Green could seek to shake up the lines and give Jenik a chance.
