The Ottawa Senators have been arguably the biggest surprising team in the NHL this season. Thanks to Linus Ullmark making 29 saves, the Senators earned a 4-0 shutout win today against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Senators have 90 points on the season.
This season was unexpected by so many people, but the belief in Ottawa is back. With 90 points and holding the first Wild Card spot, the question of when the Senators can clinch a playoff spot begins.
The win today helped the Senators get closer to clinching a spot in the 2025 playoffs, but Tuesday could be the day to get in for the Senators.
Win Tuesday's game and they're in
According to John Rodenburg of TSN 1200, it's simple for the Senators. Win on Tuesday and they're in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

To make things better for Tuesday's game, the Senators will take on the Blue Jackets, the team they had just shutout 4-0 at home. Only this time the game will take place in Columbus at Nationwide Arena.
With earning two wins in an eight-day span against the Blue Jackets, the Senators will have confidence heading into Ohio's capital. The Senators have outscored the Senators 7-2 in two games this season. Tuesday will be the third meeting in a 10-day span between the two teams.
