At the 2018 NHL Draft, the Ottawa Senators selected defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker with the 26th overall pick. Bernard-Docker's tenure in Ottawa ended rough.
In 129 career games as a Senator, Bernard-Docker recorded just 20 points. After recording just four points in 25 games this season as a Senator, the Senators traded Bernard-Docker to the Buffalo Sabres right before the trade deadline.
After 15 days following the trade, Bernard-Docker made his Sabres debut yesterday. Bernard-Docker's Sabres debut went rough by going pointless along with two penalty minutes in the Sabres' loss to the Minnesota Wild. However, Bernard-Docker did something in his second game as a Sabre that he never did in his NHL career.
Bernard-Docker records first multi-point game of his career
The Sabres concluded their set of back-to-back games today against the Winnipeg Jets. Bernard-Docker made a huge impact in just his second game as a Sabre to help the Sabres defeat the Jets 5-3.
Bernard-Docker recorded the first career multi-point game of his NHL career. Along with recording the first multi-point game of his career, Bernard-Docker earned his first points as a Sabre.
On the first two goals that the Sabres scored in the game by JJ Peterka and Rasmus Dahlin, Bernard-Docker recorded the primary assists on both goals.

Along with recording two assists, Bernard-Docker finished with two hits and two blocked shots. Two games into his Buffalo tenure, Bernard-Docker already has recorded half the points he recorded while playing in Ottawa this season.
Bernard-Docker has also made a bigger impact with his new team than Dennis Gilbert has in Ottawa. Gilbert was acquired in the Senators-Sabres trade that sent Dylan Cozens to Ottawa, and it also sent Josh Norris to the Sabres. Gilbert played has only played in one game as a Senator following the trade and went pointless in the game.
While Bernard-Docker had to wait 15 days to play a game in Buffalo, his impact has been solid. Bernard-Docker making an impact right before the Senators-Sabres game on Tuesday night in Buffalo is a good way to gain momentum and confidence two days before the game.
