Throughout franchise history, the Ottawa Senators have had some solid jerseys. Recently, a new one has been leaked.
Yesterday at a season ticket summit, the Senators revealed a sneak peak at their third jersey for the 2025-26 season with a new red jersey.

Some Sens fans may not like the jersey while some do. When thinking red jerseys, fans can't help themselves but think of their red jerseys the Senators wore in the 2000s, highlighted in the year the team went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2007. However, there is one jersey color that the Senators have in their logo that the team hasn't tried yet for an alternate that could be given some thought for a new jersey in the future.
Could a gold Sens jersey happen or work in the future?
One of the colors the Senators have in their logo is gold. However, the Senators never have once had a gold jersey. In the future, it could be possible to give it some thought.
The third jersey leaked has gold in it on the elbow sleeves. Gold is also on the outside of the numbering and lettering as seen in the "C" for the captain.
A gold jersey could be worth trying in the future for the Senators. Some teams in the NHL have some type of gold color in their jerseys today or in the past:
Vegas Golden Knights
Pittsburgh Penguins
Nashville Predators
Buffalo Sabres
Vancouver Canucks
Boston Bruins
Since the 2020-21 season, the Senators re-branded to wearing their black and white jerseys that they still wear today. The Senators had a red reverse retro red jersey in the 2020-21 season, but a red jersey was never worn again after the season.
While fans want a red jersey to return, a thought of the Senators trying a gold jersey might need to be given some thought in the future.
