At the 1998 NHL Draft, the Ottawa Senators selected forward Mike Fisher with the 44th overall pick in the draft. Fisher turned into a quick developer with making his NHL debut in the 1999-00 season.

Fisher spent the next decade being part of the Senators roster. With Fisher on the roster, the Senators were a consistent playoff team.

During the 2010-11 season, Fisher's tenure in Ottawa ended when he was traded to the Nashville Predators. Although he was traded away, Fisher's impact on the Senators was strong enough that he could deserve recognition from the Senators.

Fisher was a solid role player and hard working Senator during his tenure

Of Fisher's 18 NHL seasons, 11 of them were with the Senators. During his 11 seasons in Ottawa, Fisher was a hard working player who provided solid depth for the Senators.

In his Senators career, Fisher recorded 348 points in 675 games. Fisher is seventh in Senators history with 167 goals, 10th in Senators history in points and seventh in Senators history in games played. What could sound shocking to some fans is that Fisher played in more games as a Senator than Erik Karlsson did.

Fisher helped contribute to some of the best teams in Senators history. In the 2002-03 season, Fisher set a then career-high 38 points in the year the Senators won the President's Trophy.

From 2005-2008, Fisher recorded three consecutive 40-point seasons. In 2007, Fisher was part of the Senators' Eastern Conference championship roster. On roster highlighted by Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley, Fisher was productive with recording 10 points during the 2007 playoffs.

In the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, Fisher recorded four points in the series, which was the second most on the Senators roster. FIsher also scored the first Stanley Cup Finals goal in Senators history in Game 1 of the series on a powerplay.

The 2009-10 season was Fisher's best season not only as a Senator, but in his career. Fisher recorded career highs with scoring 25 goals and recording 53 points. Fisher finished third overall in points and led the Senators in goals during the season.

With Fisher being top 10 in games played, goals and points, and being part of several playoff teams in Senators history, Fisher could have a chance to be recognized for being a solid role player and his hard work with a Ring of Honour induction.
