With the 127th overall pick at the 2018 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers selected defenseman Wyatte Wylie. In the 2019-20 season in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips, Wylie showed promise with a 64-point season.

After 2019-20 season, Wylie would then play in the AHL. Since Wylie first played in the AHL, he has experienced some struggles. The best season Wylie had in the AHL came in the 2021-22 season when he recorded an 18-point season.

Prior to this season, the Belleville Senators signed Wylie to a one-year deal. While Wylie has yet to see any NHL action with the Ottawa Senators, Wylie is continuing a much needed offensive surge that Belleville hasn't seen.

Wylie is having hot three-game stretch

Prior to last weekend, the 25-year-old had recorded just six points in 39 games played in Belleville this season, but is now on a hot three-game heater.

Over the past three games, Wylie has recorded five points. Last Saturday against the Bridgeport Islanders, Wylie recorded his first three-point game since Feb. 4, 2022.

Last night against the Toronto Marlies, Wylie scored the game-winning goal for Belleville. It was only his second ever game-winning goal in the AHL. Both of his game-winning goals in the AHL have come with Belleville this season.

With goals in back-to-back games for Wylie, his confidence is growing bigger. Wylie now has 11 points on the season with his recent surge. Prior to his two goals over the past two games, Wylie had only scored two goals on the season.

Wylie had not scored a goal in back-to-back games since February 2022. But now, Wylie is starting to get hot at a the right time in the middle of Belleville's push for the 2025 playoffs. Belleville has a rematch against the Marlies today at 4 p.m. ET at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto.
