At 29 years old, defenseman Hayden Hodgson hasn't had much playing time in the NHL. Hodgson has only played in seven career games in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers.

In June 2023, Hodgson was part of a three-team trade when Ivan Provorov was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Hodgson was traded to the Los Angeles Kings.

Hodgson never played an NHL game for the Kings last season. In July 2024, Hodgson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators, but Hodgson has spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Belleville Senators in the AHL. Now, Hodgson is starting to get hot in an area that he hasn't been quite known for this season.

Hodgson is now on goal scoring stretch

In 33 games in Belleville this season, Hodgson has nine points. Four of Hodgson's points this season have been goals, but he hasn't always been known for scoring goals.

Over the past four games, Hodgson has recorded two goals and three points during the stretch. But, Hodgson's goal scoring is something Belleville hasn't seen consistently this season.

Hodgson's goal that he scored exactly one week ago was his first goal scored in 17 games. Now, Hodgson is having a hot four-game stretch with scoring two goals.

This past Sunday, Belleville fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack in Hartford, Connecticut, but Hodgson scored the only Belleville goal in the 4-1 loss.

In the 2021-22 season, Hodgson recorded 19 goals, but he's yet to record no more than six goals in a season since. However, Hodgson's recent hot stretch could put him in position to record more than six goals this season.

Hodgson and Belleville will return to action on Friday night when they start up a back-to-back against the Bridgeport Islanders at 7 p.m. ET at CAA Arena.
