2025 NHL Draft day two recap for Senators

Day one of the 2025 NHL Draft concluded for the Ottawa Senators when they drafted Wisconsin defenseman Logan Hensler with the 23rd overall pick in the draft.

After day one, it was time for day two of the draft. Heading into day two, the Senators had six selections from rounds 2-7. The Senators owned two third-round draft picks and their own draft pick from rounds 4-7.

In the middle of the second round of the draft, the Senators traded their 67th overall pick in 2025 and a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Kings to acquire 24-year-old defenseman Jordan Spence, a young defenseman with potential.

Blake is the son of former NHL player Thomas Vanek. Blake played in the USHL with the Chicago Steel. Blake recorded four goals and one assist in nine games. Blake is listed at 6-foot-2, 205 lbs at 17 years old.

97th overall- G Lucas Beckman

In the 2024-25 season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Beckman recorded a 2.65 goals against average and .914 save percentage in 52 games. In 11 playoff games, Beckman recorded a 2.57 goals against average and .922 save percentage. Beckman is listed at 6-foot-2, 182 lbs at 17 years old.

149th overall- LW Dmitri Isayev

In the 2024-25 season with the Avto Yekaterinburg in the MHL, Isayev recorded 45 points in 44 games. Then, Isayev recorded four points in five playoff games. Isayev is listed at 5-foot-9, 148 lbs at 18 years old.

181st overall- LW Bruno Idzan

In the 2024-25 season with the Lincoln Stars in the USHL, Idzan recorded 44 points in 36 games. Then, Idzan scored three goals in six playoff games. Idzan is listed at 6-foot, 195 lbs at 19 years old.

213th overall- G Andrei Trofimov

The Senators would take a second goalie in the 2025 NHL Draft. Trofimov recorded a 2.10 goals against average and .910 save percentage in 26 games during the 2024-25 season with the Magnitogorsk Magnitka in the MHL. Trofimov is listed at 6-foot-2, 187 lbs at 18 years old.
