The beginning of the new season for the Ottawa Senators will look different. With a fresh look with new faces, and a fresh voice I would like to bring a positive outlook on the Ottawa Senators. We may have lost many established NHL names from the 2017 playoff run, but the kids have been impressive.

I post on Twitter praising the chances we have had to score this season because I was incredibly impressed. I am writing for SenShot because I wanted to bring a bright fresh look to the team, also I am one of the quiet majority of the Sens Army.

What we need to take out of the draft is a forward, a finisher from the top 5 or 10 would help the Ottawa Senators get over the hump from taking chances to cashing in on those chances. Quinton Byfield and Marco Rossi are just some from this deep draft who can help the team grow.

The Ottawa Senators also need an elite center who can help with the faceoff percentage which was 13th which is average, but it could truly improve. Also, the team as a whole needs to cut down on shots on net to avoid the other team scoring on us.

The fact is the team’s powerplay has been awful when the season stop due to COVID-19 the Ottawa Senators were ranked 29th. We also need to improve the penalty kill are 28th needs much improvement.

A new defensive forward would help improve the team too. Maybe trades or free agency, as building a team of vets and future stars would make Ottawa a true contender and bring the masses back to the Canadian Tire Center after the pandemic clears.

Next. Ottawa Senators: Expect Brady Tkachuk to breakout in 2020-21. dark

Maybe one day we can even have a parade down Elgin Street or down Wellington Street near Parliament Hill where the Cup belongs. We do have our work cut out for us in the months, or years to come. I’m positive with the prospects, and draft picks would help improve the team as a whole.

I know we as a team from Canada’s Nations Capital we the Sens Army are ready. The Senators are due to end all their bad luck and bad news. We need to cheer on our team, also watch the team grow and prosper. I’m mat from twitter @sensfan111 tweet me with any questions or comments. Tomorrow is Canada Day so what this nation needs after a horrible year is a bright future especially for The Ottawa Senators.
