Cont’d: Who was your biggest disappointment?

I think the easy answer here for most fans, including myself, is Colin White. After posting 41 points in 71 games during his first full season, I expected White to take a small step back without Mark Stone. What I didn’t expect, was this much of a step back.

Seven goals and 23 points are simply not good enough for a player with 5 years left on a contract worth $4.75m. Unlike Brady Tkachuk, White just doesn’t have the offensive tools to generate on his own and it was obvious this year.

I’m still hopeful that he will become a very solid middle-six centre in the NHL, but with many centre prospects looking to make the jump next year, Colin White is going to have to figure out things quickly, before he gets lost in the shuffle.
