The Ottawa Senators experience with victory didn’t last long as they were easily dispatched of by the Winnipeg Jets last night, falling by the score of 5-0.
With the Ottawa Senators losing last night they have now lost sight of their last nine. What seemed like a promising season is now looking like one of the most disappointing in recent memory.
First Period
The game got off to about as a terrible a start as is possible. An early two many men on the ice penalty led to the opening goal by Mark Scheifele. Then at the six minute mark of the period the Jets scored again for a 2-0 lead. There would be no more goals in the period and Ottawa found themselves deep in the hole after just one period.
Second Period
With a comeback needed the Ottawa Senators fell apart even further in the second/ Within the first seven minutes of the period the Sens had let the score to 5-0. At this point Condon was pulled but it was too late. The Sens ended the period scoreless and down by five.
Third Period
The third period saw the Sens give up 22 shots and it was through a great performance by Craig Anderson that the game didn’t get even more out of hand. The Sens lost 5-0 and gave up 49 shots. They took only 21 of their own and lost in dominating fashion.
Wrap Up
There weren’t really any bright spots for the Ottawa Senators last night. Condon was terrible while he was in net, but the Sens let nearly 50 shots at their goaltenders. Craig Anderson had a good performance, but it was after the game was far gone.
