The Ottawa Senators are in the midst of their biggest slump of the season. Having already lost six straight, they now must prepare for a seven game road trip to save their season.

The Ottawa Senators will begin their road trip against Montreal tomorrow. It will be their second meeting of the season after getting slammed 8-3 in the previous matchup. As the Sens prepare for this trip they sit three points out of the third spot in the Atlantic with two games in hand. They are currently third last in the Eastern Conference. This road trip has the potential to save their season or end it.

The Trip

After Montreal they have a day off before heading to Brooklyn to take on the Islanders. They then fly out west to take on the Winnipeg Jets before heading on the dreaded California road trip. The California road trip, consisting of the Ducks, Kings, and Sharks, is considered by many to be the toughest road trip of the season. The Sens will complete it in four nights. Once complete they have two days off before heading to Buffalo on the 12th of December for their seventh game. Although that’s the end of the trip they have a game at home the very next day against the Rangers. It’s not until then that the Sens get any rest.

Saving The Season

Although the season is still relatively early, it’s never too early to fall out of contention. The Sens have already lost six straight and are now heading on their toughest road trip of the season. They will have to overcome the challenge and put up some solid wins. If they continue to perform poorly, the Ottawa Senators may find themselves out of contention before the new year.
